(Episode 15) The Devil you Know He picked her up in thirty minutes time and together, they both went to the police station to lodge a missing person complaint. They met an inspector at the front desk who asked them some questions about the previous night… Inspector: “So you are saying the last time you saw her was when she saw you off to your car?” he asked dribbling in a report paper. Smith: “That is what I am saying” he replied impatiently, getting annoyed with the inspector’s incessant queries. Inspector: “Madam and the last time you saw her was when she saw him off?” he asked without looking up at her. Bambi’s Mum: “Yes, that was the last time I saw her” she retied her wrapper despite sitting down. Inspector: “You are our first suspect in this case Mr do you know that?” he looked up at last. Smith: “What do you mean by that? why will I come here at all if I had anything to do with her missing? Have investigated at all to see if i have any motive to kidnap her?” ...

(Episode 14) The Devil you Know Bambi: “I know you don’t need help but this is not the right way to go about it. This will land you in trouble” she cajoled. Maxwell: “I don’t care Bambi. If I let you go now, you will run to that man for help and then I will get arrested” he put his hand on his head and started pacing around. Bambi:  “You know I wouldn’t do that Max. You know I will never do that. don’t forget it was you who hurt me first. Do you know how I survived after that night? Do you know what you did to me?” her voice shook with unspilled emotions. Maxwell: “That was the reason I came back pleading with you on my two knees but you walked out on me to embrace another man” Bambi: “That is not true. Smith is just a friend and I still love you. I was still giving what you said a thought” Maxwell: “Liar! You are such a terrible liar. You are only saying this so I can let you go but it will never work. (Episode 13) The Devil you Know She rushed to the bedroom, flung herself to the bed and wept herself silly. It felt like a dream to her; a terrible nightmare which she knew she wasn’t going to wake up from. She had used her own hand to destroy her marriage all in the name of helping a friend. A friend she had come to know as a sister; the sister she never had. God I know I was wrong. I was wrong to have tried using that means to get my husband. I am very sorry but please I want my husband back. Please get me my husband back and I promise to be of good conduct from now on. (Episode 12) The Devil you Know Even though she had known something was going on between her husband and her friend, she kept quiet about it all. She managed to live through every day watching the two of them try to keep their affair secret. She decided to find another way to confront her friend whom she knew would deny it if she asked her directly anyway. Jasmine: “Miranda…” she began. They had both taken a walk through the Island that eveing and had just settled back at home with Miranda acting all excited. Miranda: “Ah Jas. This place is beautiful. (Episode10) The Devil you Know Gloria: “But what? Don’t tell me you have changed your mind? Didn’t you say you have broken up with that girlfriend of yours?” she searched his expression. “Wait! You have changed your mind?” Maxwell: “Well not really but I just felt it was unfair to her. she didn’t deserve what I did to her” his gaze fell to her neatly pedicured toes. Gloria: “And so? Who cares if it is fair or not. You personally, what do you want? Your job or she? You know what it means to be jobless already. You have felt its sting so do you really want to go back there?” Maxwell: “I don’t know anymore…” Gloria: “You should better know. Look at me very well, I got divorced cos of you. (Episode 9) The Devil you Know She grabbed hold of what she thought was Miranda on the bed but found out it was just a pillow. The light was suddenly flicked on and she turned abruptly to find Miranda staring coldly at her. Miranda: “What are you doing in my room by this time Jas?” she asked walking closer to her. the suspicion on her face thickening. Jasmine: “Uhn…ehn…” she stuttered badly. “I was feeling a little lonely in the room so I came to join you” she found her voice at last. Miranda: “Are you sure? How can you be feeling lonely when your husband is there with you? Is there something you are not telling me?” she folded her arms across her midsection studying her every expression. Jasmine: “Well that one has vowed not to talk to me or so. Haven’t you noticed his sudden changeof attitude towards me? I still feel something is not right” she relaxed a little and sat on the bed. (Episode 8) The Devil you Know He had stepped on the break immediately he sighted her and that had succeeded in reducing the impact of the clash on her but not without some damages. His first instinct was to run for his dear life when people started trouping towards his car but looking at the helpless lady on the floor, he slowly opened his Toyota Hilux car door and slide out slowly. “Is she dead? Ah na wa o. She was not herself while she was crossing the road at all. One can easily tell it was not the driver’s fault” one of the people around said. “That is true. I just hope she wouldn’t lose her life. Such a beautiful lady” another said even as he held up his phone and took snapshots of her. (Episode 7) The Devil you Know Hmmmmm I am definitely done for. What will I do? I have a phobia for joblessness now.  I have been there before and I don’t think I ever want to go back there. As for Bambi, I am afraid of breaking her heart but don’t hearts get broken all the time?  Gloria is not that bad, I have already developed feelings for her anyway but is this really right? (Episode 5) The Devil you Know She thought he was going to join her in the bedroom to apologize to her but he never showed up. Instead, he slept in the sitting room. She wept herself to sleep that night wondering where things had gone wrong. Was I at fault for asking him that question? May things will still be fine between us if I hadn’t asked? But for how long am I supposed to wait until he decides to make the choice himself? I feel so sad, so downtrodden. I can’t believe Max will change this drastically. Should I listened to my parents and just gone ahead to marry all those men who had asked for my hand in marriage? Did I do wrong by deciding to wait for him?
